Julian of Norwich for Everyone

As well as hosting group visits at the shrine and church for both children and adults, visits to schools can be arranged through Pauline Lovelock (pictured right), the Friends of Julian Learning Project Officer.

Drawing on her wide experience of teaching children and students of all ages, Pauline has developed a cross-curricular approach for schools, engaging with a diverse range of subjects including Religious Education, English, Art, History, Music, Photography and Critical Thinking. A booklet based on this work will be published soon, providing a comprehensive guide for teachers.

Pauline's work with younger children uses art, music, dance and reflective storytelling to spread knowledge of the writings of Julian of Norwich in a vivid and engaging way.

Learning opportunities are also available for older children and adults, exploring Julian's writings in their historical context, and reflecting on the ongoing relevance of Julian's life and work for contemporary seekers, both religious and secular.

A presentation especially designed for school assemblies is available - Julian, A Special Lady of Norwich - highlighting the medieval world in which Julian lived and her rich historical, spiritual and literary heritage.
