Around Norwich

 

St Julian's Church - The church of St Julian, Bishop of Le Mans, in the Parish of St John the Baptist, where Julian lived and from which she took her name. The church houses the Julian Shrine.

 

Norwich Cathedral - Founded in 1096 as a Benedictine monastic community, this historic building would have been a prominent feature of life in Norwich during Julian's time. It remains an important religious and cultural centre. The Cathedral works closely with The Friends to promote awareness of Julian's legacy.

  

Norwich Christian Meditation Centre - Run by the Anglican Parish of St Augustine's, as well as hosting a traditional Sunday morning worship community, the centre offers meditation groups and workshops in the Christian contemplative tradition, alternative worship services, and a programme of workshops and talks by international teachers of the contemplative life. There is also a regular course on 'Developing Consciousness', which draws on modern consciousness-raising techniques, as well as the wisdom of the Christian mystics and others.

 

   

Dragon Hall - Dragon Hall is a Grade 1 listed trading hall situated in King Street, close to St Julian's. It was built around 1430, shortly after Julian's lifetime. It is an important and unique historic legacy of medieval life in Norwich
